Deputy Minister Hung-Teh Tsai obtained his master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Taiwan University and his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Public Health, National Taiwan University. He worked in the EPA as the acting minister and chief secretary, director of the Department of Air Quality Protection & Noise Control, director of the Department of Environmental Monitoring & Information Management, executive secretary of the Soil and Groundwater Remediation Fund Management Board, deputy director of the Department of Air Quality Protection & Noise Control, deputy director of the Department of Supervision Evaluation and Dispute Resolution, deputy director of the Department of Environmental Monitoring & Information Management, and deputy director of the Environmental Analysis Laboratory. During his office term as the acting minister and deputy minister, he has been developing innovative thinking, taking bold steps, and addressing challenges as his main philosophy for administration. He has leaned toward the integration of the capacity from industry, official and academia to innovate all kinds of eco-friendly technologies that can be locally applied. A common vision of clean air, care for the land, and circular economy is therefore shaped, while connecting with the world and putting the Taiwan’s experiences in environmental protection on global stage.
